I just bought a mint 1988 Prelude (yellow) with 120,000 miles on it. I am not auto knowledgeable but always loved the car and had to buy it when I saw it. Previous owner said that the timing belt was last changed at around 80,000 miles. Is this something I should change ? how long do timing belts last ? What other things should I look into to make sure its running smooth. Seems to drive just great .What type of performance parts or upgrades could I add (not expensive) that would improve the performance.. Also where can I go to look for interior parts that would improve the look ?
Thanks for any help |

Timing belts are typically changed around 90,000 miles, so you'll be good for quite a while there. It seems like the previous owner did a good job with maintenance...

Thanks guys. I can not believe how tight the handleing is on the car. It needs new tires, radio could use upgrade, though it has 6 disc cd changer.
As far as performance upgrades I am just looking to do small stuff till next spring, then I want to get body worked on and repainted. Paint has faded a bit and some small rust spots, other than that its really has so far exceeded my expectations.I have been looking for curves just to drive em... |
