My friend has a 90 prelude with a b21a, but the motor has a very bad knock sounds like a bad rod or piston, so he's thinking of changing the engine but wanted to know what other motors bolt up to the tranny with no problem

i think the b20a5 is the only other one there is

Im going to have to agree with ahhvtec and say the b20a5 also.

yea the preludes of that year are the oddballs, so if you put anything eles in it you will need new motor mounts and the whole 9 yards

The only engine's that bolt straight up are the B20A5 or the B21A1's. But if it is the automatic, then it must be the tranny of the same year.
