FRONT

REMOVAL
Remove steering knuckle. Remove hub-to-rotor attaching bolts and separate rotor from hub. Using special Front Hub Tool Driver (07749-0010000) and Attachment (07746-0010600), press wheel bearing from hub. Press wheel bearing inner race from hub. Clean knuckle and hub thoroughly before reassembly.

INSTALLATION
Press NEW bearing onto hub by using old bearing and Support Base (07965-SD90100), Attachment (07746-0010600) and Driver (07749-0010000). Install splash guard (if removed). Install hub to steering knuckle by using Front Hub Remover/Installer Driver (07GAF-SD40200) and Support Base (07965-SD90100) . Tighten bolts to specification. See torque specifications. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.

REAR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove hub and bearing assembly. Using Hub Remover/Installer (07GAF-SD40100) separate hub from knuckle and hydraulic press. Hold hub and keep it from falling when pressed clear. Remove 3 screws attaching splash guard and bearing retaining snap ring from knuckle. Press wheel bearing out of knuckle, using Driver (07749-0010000) and Attachment (07749-0010400). Press wheel bearing inner race from hub, using Hub Remover/Installer (07GAF-SD40100) and hydraulic press. Clean knuckle and hub thoroughly before reassembly.

2. Press NEW bearing onto hub by using old bearing and Support Base (07965-SD90100). Install splash guard and bearing retaining snap ring to knuckle. Install hub onto knuckle by using Support Base (07965-SD90100), Attachment (07746-0010500) and Driver (07749-0010000). Reverse removal procedures for hub and bearing assembly. Tighten fasteners to specification. Stake hub retaining nut against spindle.

TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS Ft. Lbs. (N.m)
  • Ball Joint Nut
    o Upper: 29-35 (39-47)
    o Lower: 43-51 (59-69)
  • Brake Caliper Mounting Bolt: 81 (110)
  • Lower Ball Joint Nut: 51-58 (69-78) (REAR SUSPENSION)
  • Lower Control Arm Pivot Bolt: 58 (78)
  • Spindle Nut
    o FRONT: 242 (329)
    o REAR: 220
  • Stabilizer Bar Mounting Bolts:
    o FRONT: 29 (39)
    o REAR: 40 (54)
