My s2000, with the 9,000 rpm is going to be for sale if there is not a cheaper option than Honda's 1600 propeller shaft part. (a) is there any cheaper way to fix the part? it is the right, rear u-joint area. (b) If not, best offer gets the car.

Love the car, but I will be getting into family years soon. I would replace the part, but seeing as I would need to sell it in the near future anyhow, and since there might not be a cheaper repair option, I (sigh) will sell it.

Have you tried anything but the dealer? $1,600 is a total rip. That part lists around $1,200 and you can find it for much cheaper. You can order it for $830 here: Honda Automotive Parts

Both of those ads list the part as coming from a "1998 S2000". Seeing as there was no S2K in 98, who knows what the the fuck that part is or what car it came from. I wouldn't mess with it...
