My buddy has a 91 crx dx that needs a new motor. He found a d16Z6 motor but, the tranny is bad. Will the 91 crx automatic transmission bolt onto a z6 motor? or should he buy a z6 tranny to go with it?

I live in Northern Minnesota, the weather is bad, and i will be driving on some dirt roads. I plan on leaving the top section off, but i thought that i should have the bottom section on.
