What do you guys think of the DC-Sports Catback?

Go with it, that's a score for the price your getting it for. I've had mine on my 89 hatch for 4 years now. If you leave the catalytic converter in, it's quiet and has a nice deep growl. If you run a straight pipe to it, it's way louder and sounds even better, and has no high pitched raspy sound...

good place to install 6x9's in my civic

I'd recommend getting 6 1/2's for the back, it will save you a lot of trouble and will look better in the long run. I've got 4 Infinity Kappa coaxials with the tweeters pointing directly to the listener's ears in all 4 seats. They are powered by an Audiobahn A4004T, which has enough power to...

    One 12" Sub??

Alpine Type-R's are very good subs for the money. I myself have two 12's that I got off eBay for $210, powered by a Audiobahn 800 watt amp. To all you Audiobahn haters out there, for the money (I'm talking wholesale prices), their amps are well worth it. If you want raw power and don't want a...

    Capacitors

Capacitors do help a lot if you can't afford a new alternator. I got a 1.5 farad cap off eBay and it has stopped my dimming headlights and made my subs hit harder while the engine is running. This is with an Audiobahn 800 watt amp, so I'm sure if you have a 1200+ watt amp you would need more...

    my whole shifter fucking broke!!!!!!

I've got one of those cheap APC shifters. $10 off eBay, I knew of the problems that DC Sports shifters had of breaking, so I figured why pay $40 more for a name brand aluminum shifter? I recommend a Skunk2 shifter if you want that extra piece of mind, it's the only one I know of thats made of...

    Loud whistle at half throttle?

Hey everyone! I've got an 89 Civic Si, and whenever I'm at half throttle, whether I'm giving gas or letting off, there's a loud whistle coming from the engine. I've never been able to pinpoint exactly where it's coming from, but I figure someone else has had this problem before. It only happens...

    Energy Suspension Bushing Kit

I installed the entire kit myself. It's worth the time and effort instead of getting ripped off at a shop, plus you will learn a lot about your suspension since you will have to take apart the entire front end and about half of the rear end. Just take the parts that need to be pressed to your...

    those cheap coilovers on ebay....

Just make sure the coilovers you are getting have the spring rates matched for your car. I got a set of HP Racing coilovers for $150, and they look similar to those ones on eBay. They do ride very stiff, but they are still comfortable on long road trips and you can take turns like you wouldn't...

    Energy suspension shifter stablizer Bushings

It makes shifting more precise and you get a lot less play in the shifter. However, it will increase vibration. In my car, their is a vibration that feels like a cell phone whenever the engine is above 4500 rpm. It's not bad though, I think it's pretty cool. The only drawback to this is that if...

    ??Phantom Grip??? and another question

You might also want to check out Arizona Race and Machine's LSD. I haven't heard of anyone mentioning them in these forums, but I've heard many good things about this company. Their website is at http://66.70.247.211/index.htm

    Hub Nut size?

Because I couldn't find any metric sizes that were big enough at the local stores at the time. Who cares? It worked fine even with an impact wrench to take off the nut. It fit perfectly with no movement, so I assumed it was an SAE nut instead of a metric. It got the job done and that's what counts.

    Hub Nut size?

I don't know the metric size, but I've used an 1 1/4" and it fit perfectly. I have an 89 Civic but I've used the same socket on my friends 88 Prelude, they are the same size.

Changing the fuel pump in a 91 crx hf. .

Dropping the tank isn't that hard, but disconnecting the 4 lines that connect to it can be a bitch. I had to cut mine to save the headache and replaced them afterward. If you do cut them, make sure to replace the main fill hose with the same kind, you will need the two bends in the hose to...

swapping 2000 b16a2 in 88 crxdx what parts needed?

Check out http://www.ardperformance.com for an OBD conversion harness. The ecu that came with your swap will work fine, and the conversion harness allows you to use the stock wiring harness that came with your car. However your going to need a cable to hydro conversion kit if you want to use the...

    won't start when slightly warm

Sounds like the main relay problem once again. Honda's are notorious for having shitty main relays that get real sensitive to heat when they get older. When they heat up, the fuel pump connection can get loose, but once they cool down the solder connections rejoin and your car will run normally...

Engine died, can't figure out what's wrong!

No, I haven't. It was getting late when I was doing these tests and didn't want to bother with checking the injectors yet. I've read some articles on the internet and many of them point to the main fuel relay. I've had past problems when the car didn't start when the motor was hot for a few...

Engine died, can't figure out what's wrong!

Last Friday my 89 Civic Si died on me for the first time. I can't seem to figure out what's wrong. The past 3 days before the car died, there were moments where the engine would stall and lose all power for a few seconds and then everything would be back to normal. Basically all power was lost...

What kind of suspension do you have?

I got Tokico HP struts with some HP Racing coilovers on my 89 Si, ride quality is very stiff. They are excellent around corners, but you feel every bump in the road. I don't mind it at all though, they were only $150 and I'm happy with them.

OK so I got caught with my pants down!!

Just get a hydro to cable conversion kit from Hasport. You can order it with your engine mounts. It's simple to hook up, and you don't have to spend more money on an older and weaker B16A1 tranny. A few people here have done this with their GSR motors and have had no problems.

    fix it ticket -el scammo-

I'm with cws13, just install the Greddy exhaust yourself. Then take it to emissions with the full catback on there, and you should pass just fine. Afterall they are guaranteed 50 state legal. Installing exhausts isn't very hard, it's one of the easiest bolt on's you can do. I can't believe they...
