So what about an R18 swap?

Cam profiles are the least of my concerns. L15A motors are gonna become pretty pricey considering they only sold them in the US for 2 years. R18's will be plentiful as I posted in the top of thread. I'm just looking for options. I'd rather not have to cut or deform anything under the hood...

So what about an R18 swap?

oookay... 3 years later and nobody has done this swap yet? I'm at 112k just like I said, and I'm currently having coil pack problems, in addition to money problems, so I don't think a swap is in my near future, but I'd still like a little feedback if anyone has done any investigation please...

So what about an R18 swap?

I imagine it won't be anywhere near as easy as my EK swap was. That took me a week and only because I had to wait for a rear engine mount. They both have the tranny on the driver's side yes?

So what about an R18 swap?

With all the K-series swaps that'll be going on in the near future with 06+ civics, I wonder if it isn't too bad of an idea to swap an r-series motor (the 140hp vtec engine in the standard 06 Civic model) into a Fit. I was an EK/hybrid owner (97 HX with B18C1) and used it as my daily driver for...

97 HX Coupe with B18C1 - Power steering??

My 97 HX has been running great for the last 140k miles with the B18C swap I did 4 years ago (yes I drive a LOT) but I never solved one problem with the swap - Power Steering. The pump from the '00 GSR that came with the swap fit OK once I changed the pulley, but the pump didn't work with the...

    Any use for a D16y5 (HX VTEC-E)?

I pulled the stock D16Y5 out of my 97 civic HX two years ago when I swapped in my B18C1. I understand it has a SOHC VTEC-E system (goes from 12 to 16 valves). Do people usually throw these engines away or can some good be made of them? I have a friend with a 91 CRX DX who has a bit of...

clutch problem on my b18c type r

I have a stock 2000 b18c1 swapped into a 97 Civic HX and had the EXACT same problem. Couldn't shift while the motor was running, clutch wouldn't disengage completely. I thought it was hydraulics too, until I replaced both master and slave cylinders with no change. I sent it to my mechanic...
