I've got the capability to lift the car and take the motor out of the bottom. Would that make it much easier? it's an 87 integra with the stock motor

timing belt tensioner is manual isn't it? i thought those type didn't need replacing is it worth doing the oil pan gasket if it's not leaking?

little rock, arkansas how much should i pay for a motor in good shape? the one for $340 has 78k on it if i call a junkyard and ask for a motor from an 87 integra are they going to know if the same motor came out of any hondas? was a d16a1 ever put in anything else? what's the difference...

looking for a d16a1 or a zc for my 87 integra what do you guys have? sorry, i'm located in little rock, arkansas and can drive some distances but have a jeep and will have to use a trailer (jeep doesn't like long trips)

thanks for the help guys. i appreciate it man i hope i didn't bash the valves it actually starts, but yea the rpm's go way up - symptoms of bent valves? i made sure i line the cams up with the holes on the drivers side, how could the timing be jacked up? how do i check to see if my valves are...

is that an easy fix? aside from pulling the motor and rebuilding it or putting a different engine in? how do i tell for sure if it's a rod knock?

AH HA! look at that. i missed that ground. the fuel pump works now. however (I haven't yet set the timing), when i turn the car on the RPM's go WAY up, even if my foot's not on the pedal. thanks VTECin5th, man i owe you. i spent 3 hours trying to figure that out last night, and 5 minutes fixing...

hey guys i bought an 87 integra last week and did a head swap. "finished" it up yesterday, when i went to crank it it fires over just fine. the problem is that there the fuel pump isn't working. i loosened the bolt on top of the fuel pressure regulator while my wife turned the key on and off...
