H22 / '99 Civic - Mystery of the missing RPM Output Wire

Honestly I have no idea, he said his tach was reading but not correctly, and I use this tach adapter to fix that problem on swaps like when we put 2JZGTEs into 240SX cars, so that's all I had to suggest :) -Doc

Thanks, I try to subscribe to most of my threads so that I can keep track of them, I got this notification in my email so I'd thought I'd drop by and help if I could. This is one of the better Honda forums out there so I try to swing through every now and then :) -Doc

H22 / '99 Civic - Mystery of the missing RPM Output Wire

Actually I figured out the problem was that the Civic I was working on didn't have a stock tach, so the wire didn't exist. In your case, you do have a stock tach so it's a different situation. I don't know what's going on with yours, but I do carry tach adapters that you can use to calibrate the...

    H22 Swap into a '94 Accord (Pics)

Pulling the engine... (Yes, the car was lime green. More on that in a minute) Wiring up the H22... Tarp over the Accord engine bay to prevent overspray getting on the other cars... Ohhh! That's much better! Engine coming into place... Just bolted in...

H22 Swap into '99 Civic *PICS*

I think including all the extra parts and labor it costed this customer around $2500, including the a/c and p/s and everything. That doesn't include the engine or mount kit. -Doc

H22 Swap into '99 Civic *PICS*

I beleive the kit was a place racing kit, and the axles were specific for the swap (provided by the customer). There are several lists out there if you look around, that's what I would do. Where in VT are you from? I used to live in Newport. -Doc

H22 Swap into '99 Civic *PICS*

Well I'm an expert in all Toyota swaps since I've been doing them for quite some time now. This was my first H22/Civic swap though. It took me about 4-5 days of work including rewiring the harness (not using an adapter harness) and whatnot. -Doc

200-210 is normal for an H22 from what I've seen.

    h22 Overheating

Well keep an eye on it, it must be going somewhere. A very small leak can evaporate without ever dripping on the ground, keep an eye out for that. -Doc

Forget about the tank, did you check the level of the fluid IN THE RADIATOR? Did you fill it back up after changing the thermostat? -Doc

No problem. '96 Accord vtec, I'll have to remember that. The JDM H22A1 uses an internal coil, right? ('93 model, for example). -Doc

    clutch

Well, if the clutch is catching at the very top, that typically indicates a very worn clutch. However, if the cable needs to be adjusted or is sticking, it would cause the same problem, so check that first. -Doc

    h22a wont start..just did a compression test

Usually there is a screw in the side that holds it on. You may need to rotate the engine to get to it (just bump the starter). -Doc

    h22a wont start..just did a compression test

Grab a coil and ignitor then and replace one at a time, then return the one you didn't need. -Doc
