vtec really doesnt make that much difference with turbo....so if you r thing of putting boost to it save yourself the money and just do straight ls. but its all about personal choice so its up to you
id go with ls vtec....mine lasted a while ......only reason why it went was because i put boost to it....if not for boost it would have gone longer. i think you would enjoy it
just use the d15b vtec engine....instead of trying to piece yours together....the jdm d15b vtec can handle 16psi on stock internals (u need to tune the set up) preferrably chrome. DONT USE FMU! that is, if u choose to boost

all the d16a1 is, is a dual cam zc. use stock wiring harness from your old motor and put it on the d16a1 because all your messing with is a dual cam zc. simple as that
street tunig with chrome is like $80. i could give you a bass map that would definitely run it better than fmu ever will. if you stick with fmu your cars pretty much finished
