    I'd just convert to r134a... I live in hot-as-balls New Orleans, and it cools BETTER than it did with the r12. I used Freeze-12 on another car once and it cooled really good, but it made the compressor whine loudly. Wouldn't recommend it.

    good point, but again, it's just something i wanna do. that, and i'd have to pay someone else to do the swap and i don't have that much cash right now. i really want to do the work myself too, just to learn. that's why i wanna do it on the d first, to get experience so i don't have to learn...

    i'm gonna try to stay around 200 whp on the D, since it's an automatic tranny. i know that's not ideal, but when i blow this setup up (cuz i know eventually something's gonna break) i'm just gonna swap in a b18 and GSR tranny and put the turbo on that!

    I'm thinking of going turbo, but I want to keep a/c and p/s. Is there a certain type of manifold I need, or can the turbo be mounted either way? Before you ask, I have searched, but there are very few threads with pics of such a setup on a D series.

    thanks for the reply! the main reason i was interested in the mini-me head swap was to not have to take the whole engine out, as i don't have a hoist and i wanted to do all the work myself. if i was gonna swap engines, i'd just pony up and get a b18 and call it a day. i'll keep searching thru...

    hey guys, i've owned many hondas and acuras before, but i'm new to civics... just got a 93 dx coupe with a d15b7. i'm thinking about doing the mini me vtec head swap and a small turbo. any suggestions on a turbo kit or what would i need to make one myself? i want to keep p/s and a/c.
