I've gone through 3 clutch cables in the past few months. Makes me wonder: do I need a different cable than the one I'm using?
Acura GSR in a Honda Civic Si, 1989
I'm using the Civic clutch cable that goes with the Si Hatchback. Question: Does the Acura engine make that cable a bit short...
My throttle cable is fraying. The car is a Honda Civic si, 1989; the engine is a '94 GSR. I'm guessing that I need the throttle cable that fits the 1989 Civic not the '94 Integra?
Nothing available at parts stores, so Honda has to order the cable and can't return it; I'd like to get it...
I probably don't have enough information...but here's my problem and a question. We have a '94 GSR in my son's '89 Civic. The car came with a body kit and adjustable shocks and ball joints. I've taken it for alignment twice and they haven't gotten it right yet. Between the Acura axles and...
I just picked up the hatch door and a front fender ('89 Civic) last week from Barney's Auto Salvage in Sioux Falls, SD. You can google "Barney's Auto Salvage Sioux Falls SD" and find a phone number and address. I got the feeling that the entire car was there; I wouldn't be surprised if the...
Just to let you know about the 60amp fuse that kept blowing on the Honda.... my son said that he had sparked the battery cables by putting the positive cable on first, then the negative. So we replaced the fuse and tightened down the cables, etc. But I thought I'd better check the alternator...
The main fuse in the fuse box (engine compartment ) started blowing the other day. This is a '94 Acura GS-R sitting in a 1989 Honda Civic hatchback. The fuse box is from the Honda Civic, but it has worked fine -- for 6 months -- until now.
Just wondering if there's anything fairly common...
My son has a '94 GS-R in his older honda civic. The oil pan is dented pretty badly and may even have a small crack.
Anyone know if other oil pans might interchange with the GSR? There is a '91 Integra nearby that is parted out and several Honda Civics.... Thanks.
My ecu is a PR3 (J00), so it's an OBD0.
I pulled the current distributor and it is a TD 02 -- it must be from the original Civic Si engine that was in the car. One bracket leg is cut off to make it fit the GSR engine. I assume that if I get a JDM B16A distributor (OBD0) that the bracket...
Thanks much for getting things clear. It sounds like I'd need more than a simple conversion of plugs if I want to try a GSR distributor with the GSR motor in the '89 Civic Si. Ry-Wire says I'd also need an OBD1 ECU. I have a B16A ECU running the GSR now--does that qualify as OBD1?
OBDO to OBD1
Okay, if there's no difference in performance, etc., between a JDM B16 distributor and a GSR distributor, might as well go with the JDM and not have to worry about matching the plugs/connectors. Make sense?
*One related point of interest. I recently put a new ignitor in the...

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering, Aren't all OBD0 distributors made for 1.5 or 1.6L engines? I guess it doesn't matter that my GS-R is a 1.8L. But at least I should look for an OBD0 distributor that's VTEC? Otherwise I see that the 92-92 Integra 1.8 distributor also has the...
My son has an '89 Civic Si with a '94 GS-R engine. We have TPC sensor codes and I wanted to change the distributor anyway. But the current distributor has the round connectors that match up with the round Civic connectors--not the usual rectangle connectors on a '94 GS-R distributor. What...
