possible 3g Lude Legend caliper upgrade...

I was doing research on my Legend caliper swap onto my '95 SI when I came accross something very interesting. In Advanced's brake book, the 3g Ludes caliper part number is the same as the stock '95 SI's. I checked it on hondaautomotiveparts.com but the numbers don't match. I think its due to the...

possible 3g Accord Legend caliper swap...

This is kinda confusing and I'm not sure if it'll work but please bare with me. As I was doing brake research for my '95 Prelude I found that Advanced had the same part # for the front calipers of the 4g Lude as the 88-91 Prelude. Hondaautomotiveparts.com has them as diff #'s so I'm not...

JDM B20 for 3rd gen prelude

After some more research and realizing that I think I've been chasing my tail, I've come to this conclusion. The importers I've talked to say that the JDM b20 with 145hp is a Prelude engine but I'm thinking differently now. I believe the engine you're talking about is the same engine 3g Luders...

JDM B20 for 3rd gen prelude

Not taken as a diss, I'm just trying to understand this engine since its new to me. For the record, there is a b20a5. I checked the Helms. I still disagree about it fitting the 3g Lude tho. From looking at the Helms and the pics on links you posted and the pics someone on 3geez posted for me...

JDM B20 for 3rd gen prelude

spiffyguido: If he uses the 3g mounts it should bolt up the same. A b20a is a b20a is a b20a. At least thats my theory. prelude2004: See my responce on h-t.com. Slammed90Lude: 1hp= 1.1ps

JDM B20 for 3rd gen prelude

Well, $%&* me with a stick! Hes right! I've never seen or heard of this engine before and I wouldn't know where to start looking. From honda.jp's site the engines seem identical. Same bore, stroke and compression. Too bad they don't give an a5 or something at the end of the b20a. It came in...

    H23 vtec

Makes sence. How much difference in overlap is there between vtec and non?
  9. R

    H23 Vtec

You'll need to shorten the squirts so the h23 counter weights don't hit them, but yea thats pretty much it.

    H23 vtec

I can admit, I don't know. Please enlighten me.

    H23 vtec

Why not get adjustable cam gears and change the overlap???
  12. R

    H23 vtec

For a racecar that may be fine since you're gonna rebuild the engine fairly often anyways. I guess this is just a case where we must say "to each their own". I would rather spend the $200 on upgrading to the vtec thermo and housing and install the oil squirts. I also have some numbers for the...

    H23 vtec

To do the h23vtec "correctly" you will have to install the oil squirts. The passages are there, they just have to be drilled and taped. The squirts also have to be shortened a bit due to the crancks counter weights. The h23 cr is 9.8:1. The h22 has greater head volume, therefore using the h23...

    H23 vtec

You need the pistons to increase the cr to h22 standards. Whats the point to the swap if you end up with less compression than the h22?
  15. R

    H23 vtec

You'd need the h22 pistons and of course the ecu in addition to the head. Also, I found on hondaautomotiveparts.com that the thermo housing and pipe going to the water pump can be upgraded for better cooling flow. I mentioned it on h-t.com, but no ones responded so I'm not 100% that it'd work...

    2nd Gen Prelude Engines

Look at the '86-'89 Accords. They have so much in common with the Prelude its not even funny. You can use their brakes, engines, trannies, suspension pieces, etc, etc.

    1985 Honda Prelude

Is there ever such a thing as a "direct" swap???

    motor swapz

Will the stock 2g mounts work with the b20a???
  19. R

    motor swapz

Look at the A series that came in the 86- 89 Accords. One of those would probly be your best bet for a good bang for the buck swap. Just be sure you overhaul the engine.

    1985 Honda Prelude

The 2g did come with a 2.0. If you don't believe me, email me in 5 days. I'll send you the link from Honda Japan. Is scorch222even still checkin this???
