Are we all talking about the same motor here an obd I d16z6 or an obd II d16y8? Only states sohc vtec so in all reality could be talking about either motors. I do know the obd II d16y8 factory vtec point is 5700rpms. so you people probably have different motors? ;)

Hey I know this may sound stupid and you have already fixed the problem by now but check to see if you may have reversed the MAP and TPS sensor plugs on the Throttle Body I accidently did this on a swap and had similar problems. Just advice may or may not be the problem. best of luck, and Any...
