i made an intake out of the stock pipe. i had to cut the stock pipe to where that outlet goes to the valve cover. but i put a filter on there, bought a flex pipe and drilled it to the filter. it flows really well. there is a hole where the stock intake use to be and thas where i mounted the flex...
well the stock springs are about 5 to 6 inches in diameter, and the GC springs are like 3 to 4 inches in diameter. the concern was the spring and strut pertuding into the trunk area, thus bottoming out the rear end. GC told me that i dont need the pillow that the stock springs have at the top...
installin the coils now and we noticed the upper pillow mount is bigger than the coil springs. GC says that all material needed was provided. anyone got any info on ths? txt me at 602 318 4305
yea i noticed its very touchy. my squeaky belt was, i think contributing to the rpm problem. i noticed that the rpms do drop below 1k, but doesnt cut out.
i was changing the oil today and fuckin around i guess i found the tensioner and tightened the belt that was squeaking. it wasnt much, but enuff where its dont squeak. the belts look great, so there wouldnt have been any point in replacing them.
im happy that this thread is up. im having a similar problem with my fuel injected si. at first it idled too high..2k rpm! i lowered it by loosening that screw. then it began too idle too low. so i raised it just a tad bit. it doesnt do it all the time. i do hear a funny rattling sound around...
gawd dam im confused. :-/ i took a look at the repair book i picked up at checkers. where is this tensioner located? is it by the driver side wheel? what size is the bolt? ill try tightening the belt first.
the belts seem fine. no cracks and seem tight. so..spraying wd-40 on the elts as it runs will help stop the squeaking? i live in phoenix az, and the temp is already warming up. that might have been a factor.
