the d16y8 has been said to have the best flowing head...but tends to lift under certain operations (mainly boost)....and there is deff a difference other then just internal parts like combustion chamber design and flow but if I had to pick I would choose the d16z6 although these are vtec heads...
most all of the diff's are the same per tranny besides that they have different final drive ratio's...so if you take a diff out of one d series trany it will go in any other and the same for b series and so on and so forth

sounds like you got a crap ass distributor.....go change it for a new one if that still doesnt work then look else where...if that sensor is bad there is no replacement for it anyway so you'ld be getting a new one
does the car just shut off or does it run but like crap...my guess is that you have the wrong engine harness on your car...you should be running the harness for the vtec engine
With a swap usually you go after market engine mounts...which are usually stiffer which transfers all the engine vibration to your dash or car chassis it self but it also usually makes a lot of vibration at idle...you might also want to check your torque mounts or the rear tranny mount....does...
I know they are different length's, Its supposed to be 2 1/2 in frt and 2 1/4 in the rear...it dropped the frt but did nothing to the rear.......long springs in frt short in rear...should the eg springs work or are you supposed to combine them with the eg struts???
