Aside from the infamous pico fuse issue with Pioneers, they are very nice decks :) I just sold my Clarion DXZ955MC... wonderful deck, I enjoyed every second with it.

Just saw something else I should throw in that was brought up on the car audio forum... Never, ever, ever, everrrr replace the fuse on your amp with a larger fuse. If you have an amp rated for 50A and you put 80A worth of fusing on it, if something goes wrong, your amp will be fried.

BCAE is a very useful tool, and that is a nice program :) Tell me this, in a perfect environment, with 0 risk of a short circuit, would you need a fuse under your hood?

I never said there was anything wrong with fusing near your amp's rating. Nothing at all. I just said there's nothing wrong with over-fusing.

Yes, I am saying it's okay to have an amp fused at 30A on a 100A under the hood fuse. Done it myself. They make different sized fuses because ideally, you want to have a fuse close to your amp's rating. Also, you don't want to have a fuse that will allow more current to flow through a power wire...

The one on the amp should be the first one to go. That's why they're there... to protect the amp. The one up front is to protect the battery.

Well I hate to burst some bubbles, but the inline fuse doesn't necessarily have to be bigger or equal to the amp's fusing. If you have an amp fused at 50A and put a 100A fuse on it or if you're running an amp fused at 50A and use a 40A fuse, you're not putting your amp in danger. The only...

Yeah, Rexes are crazy loud. I could totally see an Atomic doing a 152 in one. In my van, I peaked at 144.8 with a Kicker L7 15" in 4.5 @ 34 and a Lightning Audio X1.2000.1D. It was pretty sick for a daily system. I had an AudioQue HD3 and it was really loud, but I never got it on the meter. Was...

Not sure, I'm not a huge crossfire fan. Not saying they're not good subs, just never been deep into them. If you want some awesome SPL woofers, check out the Fi Car Audio BTL, the Digital Designs 9500, the AudioQue HDC3, the RE MT, DC Audio Level 5, Mach 5 SPL12, Sundown Audio Nightshade or the...

I usually fuse to about the same amount the amp is fused for. My last 1000w amp was fused at 90A, so I put a 100A fuse on it.

Definitely make sure your power and ground wires are the correct size. I usually recommend nothing smaller than a 8awg kit for an amp that size. Make sure there are no shorts in your system, and your ground goes to solid, shiny metal (aka sand off the paint; it's an insulator):) Oh, and for the...

While I may be useless when it comes to knowing stuff about Hondas, I do know a ton about audio. I've been an addict for 5 years, and am learning something new every day. I used to work as an installer, and have done several full installs myself. If you need sub/amp/speaker/head unit...

Dammit, now I went and started looking at Preludes. Those are such damn sexy cars. If I got one, I'd probably leave it alone... quick enough for me.

I don't know if it was an individual or a shop, but when I talked to him, he seemed to be pretty deep into the performance business. He talked about several motors he had rebuilt and a bunch of cars he has. As far as I know, it is everything I need to put it in the car. In fact, he's even got it...
