take the dizzy back to AA and get one from somewhere else. Napa or Car Quest preferably I went through 3 count em THREE starters one night becuase I kept getting them from AA. or was it Auto Zone either way they're hockin the same parts, get a quality part.
Oh and are you clearing the codes...
switched out the Fuel Pressure Regulator with the one off my old B7, we'll see if it makes a diffrence on tomarrows commute. if not I'm tearing into the fuel pump. maybe it's on it's last leg and losing pressure... will also switch out the fuel filter...AGAIN! lol

for the cost of a new engine and putting it in expect to pay anywhere in the 1500 - 2500+ range depending on the engine swap. For that money you can put a turbo kit and freshen up the block with pistons and forged rods on your b7 and REALLY gain some power.

your getting spark, otherwise it wouldnt backfire, and it would hydrolock...
check to make sure your spark plug wires are in the proper firing order, both on the dizzy and the head.
next if that dont work check your timing. could be 180º out.

BS It's not compression! he has compression! albeit low, (check for sticking valves on that front) check your dizzy timing, and that your spark plug wires are on the correct plugs. outside that do your have a lit CEL? (check engine light) if so look up how to check and read the codes. it will...

could possibly be a bad ECM driver... however could you have replaced one bad injector with another? were they used injectors? try moving a working injector to one of the not working ports, if it dont work, check for a short in the injector wire with an ohm meter. if that dont work haul it to a...
