Shouldn't a Code 4 be related to your Distributor cap?
Since the TDC/Crank/Cyl are all inside it.
Here you go if you want to see if the distributor is bad, otherwise you might have to change the pins inside the ECU connector that goes to the Distributor connector.
I can also provide you with...
Actually, the clutch wasn't worn out, it gripped perfectly.
I was changing the transmission because of grinding gears so I looked at the PP and it was all-good. Didn't bother with the clutch since it was O.K before doing the work, but I guess it was ''holding'' together with a little bit of...
Hey guys! I finally found the problem....
I had a nice surprise when I removed my Pressure Plate...
So well...LOTS of headache for an exploded clutch. Who said Exedy was SO reliable? ^_^
I have a spare linkage that came with my replacement transmission, I'll see if I can swap the bushings over, the shifter knob bushing we're like...extra virgin tight.
Sorry about the multiple threads!
Hmm well, if my shift linkage was installed impropely, wouldn't that keep me from shifting altogether? (Car running and car not running.)
Any tricks as to how to make sure my linkage is ok?
As for the clutch/pp installation, it was working ''correctly''...
It looks just like yesterday, I marked the fluid level on the reservoir, if it goes lower, I'll see it now. But well, I'm getting the idea something else is wrong that my hydrolic system
Alright, I've tried almost all setup with my pedal, farthest away from the master, with the longest push and almost no free-play and it still won't shift.
Now, if I start the car in gear, it stalls, just like I am not pressing the clutch pedal, I'm starting to believe my pressure plate went bad...
Im not using an ebay short shift, the line seems fine I checked that out already. Yes it was really tight, I'll try to slack it a little. I didn't want any free play because it wouldn't engage the pressure plate so I gave it no freeplay at all.
I'll probably get it, seems to get good reviews and all.
But I won't be installing it anytime soon.
(Just removed my tranny twice this weekend, so I'm kinda not willing to do it again :P)
Thanks for the link!
I mean, that I tried and failed, to remove the freeplay. I got the explanations in the other thread, as to HOW to adjust it correctly. I was doing something wrong so I could never get the fork to travel all the way.
lol. Seems it doesnt like to be pushed agaisnt the pressure plate, for some reasons. I'll buy an OEM bearing when I'll change my pp and clutch. (Still need to find a good deal for a Stage 1 pressure plate, because I can't stand a soft oem clutch anymore lol.)
