So i just got my distributor in today and i just put it on i tried to start it and it did for a few seconds and it died and i tried moving it a bit more and still no start but this question is dumb but does each wire has a certain plug in on the distributor?

Its a 92 teg LS 5 speed. when it first happened i thought it was the alternator, but i turned every light on in my car and they did not dim one bit.

Ok so when i start my car it will idle fine then my rpm gauge go all weird and then the car dies. it was just running fine like 30 mins ago when i drove home. then i went out and started it and drove off and died at the top of my street. what would cause this i checked all my distributor caps...

ok i cleaned out the Iavc and it idles fine when its warm but not when its cold where is the Fitv at? thats what controls it when its cold right? am i able to clean it out?
