    With the timing being so low, I think there's more in it. Depending on the Intake Manifold and Head work, if any, you may even be able to reach that goal. 320 is pretty good, though.

    Odd that a tuner would call another tuner to ask about timing numbers. If they both agreed there must have been a reason for it... I'd assume.

    Ouch! That's really low timing wise, but honestly, the ECU puts some limitations on how low of timing you can actually run. You were probably running more than that. Definitely would be part of the cause either way!

    Yup, that's a good starting point for most setups. Depending on the setup it could need a lot more timing from that point, though.

    You'll want to get a P28 equivalent ECU to be able to get tuned properly, as the P13 doesn't have a public editor that supports boost tuning properly. You can get tuned on several platforms. NepTune, eCtune, Hondata, and Crome. I'd suggest finding a tuner and seeing what he uses or looking into...

    He has an ECU with unknown plugs, unknown pinout, and he doesn't know what to do with it... makes perfect sense unless he finds the pinouts or he's an electrical engineer and wants to track down each pins designation for himself. He's said he can't find any information, you guys haven't posted...

    That coupled with very conservative timing could very well do so. It's not just fuel, remember. If the ignition is retarded from where it should be it will not fully burn the air/fuel mixture.

    As I mentioned, why not use the original OBD1 P08 ECU for that engine... the D15B... to easily make this workable for him, since OBD1 information is widely available. This was not to imply that the engine is OBD1 and I said nothing to that effect.

    Yes, getting the proper ECU is always the answer. Possibly. The ECU will make changes when a CEL is present, so I can't say for sure. Normally on OBD1, it would.
