Just did a motor swap from a D15B7 to a D15B2. Now the timing belt is slipping off away from the motor off the pulley. It actually wore a hole in the timing cover. I'm not sure if I did something wrong or what. Please help.
Steve
I actually got it running. I did the unthinkable/unbelievable mistake. When I installed the distributor, the rotor wasn't on #1 cylinder. All I did was took off the rotor, spun it 180 and it fired right up.
HOWEVER, now I've got another problem. I used the belt from the B7 because I had...
Yes, B7 intake and B7 harness on the B2. Grounds are good. Have good fuel pressure, and it looked like there was fuel on the spark plugs. I'll have to try the distributor tomorrow. How do I check the timing??
I'm sorry about being a pain with all the questions, I'm very new at this.
Swapped B7 intake onto B2 head/motor, but unforutnately, no luck. How do I go about checking the timing and fuel, I already checked the spark, and it is firing.
I apparently didn't read your reply correctly. Do you mean swap out the entire intake off the B7 and put in onto the B2?? What exactly do you mean intake/wiring harness?
Thanks for replying. I already am using the wiring harness and distributor from the B7.
The B2 was complete with head/intake so I didn't swap any of those parts out with the B7.
How do I go about checking the timing/spark/fuel???
Sorry for the newbie questions.
Is it possible to run a D15B2 in a D15B7 car??? I know this sounds really bad, but my fiance got a motor for her 93 Honda civic DX which originally had a D15B7 in it. HOWEVER, the motor she got was a D15B2. We didn't realize the difference until the motor was already in the car.
It won't...
