i agree if your motor has low milage or you plan on doing an engine swap to either a b or k series making the transfer would deff be worth it. The swap may take some time i suggest taking your time looking for the parts if you plan on doing it yourself so you can find good quality cheap parts...
i have hade similar problems with one of my older civics if i can remember it was because of a bad ground. Recheck your ground and try to jump your car thats what i did and it worked fined if that dosent work i dont no what to tell ya
You dont want to risk the compatibility of the engine for your new parts you could possibly rebuild the current engine it just will cost a bit more but will last a lot longer
