i did the same swap on a uk prelude and im sure all the valves were there (obviousely except the vtec stuff). there was one that was located on the bulkhead, rather than on the engine (as in the case of the h22). cant remember what one off hand but ill see if i wrote it down anywhere....
ps. i...
just found out that its supposed to have a yel/blk and a white wire going to it. so from looking at the workshop manual it seems that its the intake controll solenoid, that was only on SI versions. so.... should i just wire it directly to the ecu?
just finishing off swapping my preludes old ukdm f20 for a jdm h22a but i have a plug on a solenoid without anything attached to it. its located roughly in the middle of the fuel rail (attached via a small bracket), has a plug on the side of it, and 2 vacuum hoses going into it (one on the side...
in what way? would i have to scrap all the piping that comes with it to get it to fit on a 4th gen, or is it just a case of cutting a bit off here and there?
what differences would there be between a turbo kit designed for a 4th gen prelude, and one made for a 5th gen lude? and would it be difficult to fit one designed for a 5th gen onto a 4th gen?
ok panic over. it seems that my engine came with a semi-cut harness... some plugs were there and some werent. luckily it looks like i have all the ones i need though.
thanks for the help :D
hmm, in the "how-to" on h22a.org it says:
"*Wires to add:
VTEC Solenoid: Grn/Yel on Prelude harness > Pin A4 on ECU // SENSOR LOCATION: Near distributor
VTEC Pressure Switch: Lt Blu on Prelude harness > Pin D6 on ECU // SENSOR LOCATION: Near distributor
Blk/Red > Ground
IAB: Pink on Prelude...
hi,
im putting a jdm h22 into my prelude that currently has a f20 (uk spec 2.0i) engine in it.
the problem is i dont have a h22 wiring harness, so im missing a few plugs.
so... what can i do (other than spend £150 on a harness from a breakers)? can i get the necassery plugs new from somewhere...
yea some do come stock with the h22. only problem i can see is wiring (for the vtec etc.).
basically what do ya recon, would i be mad to attempt this as i have no experience??
its actually a 92-96 prelude (93 in this case), uk model. would that make it any easier or would i still be wasting my time?
oh, and you're correct, not done an engine swap before.
new to the forum so first of all, hi everyone. :)
ive tried searching the board but i havnt found any info on this so here goes.....
i want to swap my current preludes 93 2.0i 16v(UK spec, the non vtec crap one) for a h22a. ive never done an engine swap before so could do with as much info...
