Yes I'm putting together a LS/vtec block. I was just trying to make the question as plan as I can so no one would change the subject. I see that happens alot on forums. I think the oil pump housing is the same. I think that the different in a ls and vtec pump is the gear and spring. I'm not 100%...
Well they sell aftermarket oil pump gears that are better than stock. You can also mess with the LS spring to give alittle more pressure. Is their anyone on this forum that has try to do this?
Is it pointless to buy a complete vtec oil pump. I was thinking that I could just use the ls oil pump housing and change the oil pump gears to a vtec one. Doesn't that make sense. I guess you would need to swap the oil pump pressure spring or reg it to give more pressure.
I just wanted to get a better understanding on which engine you guys think would be a better choice to turbo. I can understand why a high compression engine block would benefit from a vtec head. from what I learned the smaller cam lobes allow the engine to idle better, burn less fuel, and...
I have an oil leak coming from somewhere in my engine that's driving me nuts. It first seems to be only one leak coming from the main seal. But oil seems to be coming from every direction on my engine now. How do you guys check for oil leaks to pinpoint where there coming from? Is there a...
From all the info I have learned off this site I see no point in buying a b20b block. It has all the same internal specs as a b18b but with a wider 84mm sleeve. Is that all you have to do to make your b18b block a 2.0L ?What are the big benefits to boring out your sleeve to 84mm?
Also, My last...
I have a set of DSM 420cc blue tip injectors from my old 4g63t engine. I'm trying to start saving up parts for a custom turbo for my b18c engine. I need to know how to wire up the dsm resister box or honda resister box to my 1994 integra harness to be able to use the DSM injectors. I think i...
This might seem like a dumb question. How would I go about screwing on the stud? Do you just screw it as tight as you can with pliers, then put the head on and tighten the nuts? Is there certain specifications on how tight you tighten the stud?
Alright, Pay close attention! I can't remember: Is the b16a and b18c longblock the same size? If so, would it be possible to make the b16a a 1.8 liter engine by using the b18c crankshaft? Is it as simple as that?
