Please post up any reputable Swap Shop that you "have" done business with, also any good information about Dynojets and Tuners would help also.

(Mods could you possibly pin this up in the SouthEast, so that we can keep track of any good tuners, and reputable shops)

Swap Shops : Places that have been in business for some time, your experience and please don't post what some moron from SuperDuperHonda.com post in a remark, this should be based from "EXPERIENCE, AS IN YOUR OWN"

Tuning Shops : These should be places that have done a good job tuning your car via Hondata, Apex PFC, places you bought a good chipped p28, etc. And please based from YOUR experience.

This would be a good topic for the SouthEastern boys since it helps up do business with the people who deserve our business and also our hard earned cash. This will also help out in possibly setting up a dyno day/meeting day for us to take our cars.

So in order:
Location ?
Swap Shop/Motor Builder/Motor Importer ?
Tuner/Dyno ?

so here I go:

Boca Raton "South East Florida"

Swap Shops : Ricky's Auto, they are a little pricey but I have done business with them before, good people, and I could vouche for their work.

Pacific Performance, I have personally met Steven Thompson, nice guy, hooked me up with free labor, I also met some of his mechanics "Ceasar" which doesn't work there anymore but if you run into him, nice guy. Definetly a place to consider building motors and turbo parts.

Tuning : I recommend South Florida Performance, they did a good job on my buddies turboed ITR, and also recommend Dynamic Turbo in Miami. The only ECU chippers that I would honestly recommend would be three guys (first, Kenji Plennert which lives in the tampa area and is famous on honda-tech for his chipped P28's , etc..., and he has the fastest swap record at 45mintues..lol, also Jason Katman from JHP's, even thoush he doens't like in the southeast, you could send out your ecu for chipping, and also Locash Racing...all great places)

These were all based from my experience, and are my personal opinion,,,,,,good shops deserve our business.

Places to stay away from:
Orlando Area --> can't remember the name but this place is just outside of orlando, operated by one guy, no lift, if you stated the shops name I would know, but this incendent happened years ago, fuck him and hopefully he is out of business..

have fun guys..

Question

I had my motor swap completed at Auto Obessions in panama City. Nic is the swap god!!! He'll do it right the first time. CAn eat off his motors are so clean.

I got my hondata tuned on my swap at Adam's auto in Crestview. They have done countless hondata and other dyno tuning on the 248C dynojet. Old but very reliable... (My ITR all motor dynoed at 180 HP and 128 TQ...)

ALLJDM.COM is a great place to buy parts, Jason is in Tampa....

I have heard good things about Need 4 speed and the The Car Shop in Jackson, Mississippi.

I am about to buy a car from one of that employees that is off the hook. It is a 92 Hatchy Si with a H22 swap in it. He just finished working all the kinks out of it but he decided that he want ed build a 240sx into a silvia. Who would want a Nissan but all kidding aside his new one is going to rock.

kapman, auto obsessions did your swap?
i thought you did it...

i talked to them about putting a h22 / b20 in my sol, but the swap guy never called me, said theyd do it for 500 bucks and it would take 2 days.

and when you say nic, you mean the guy with the crvtec in that green civic?
his engine bay was clean as hell, but the times he ran were shitty. he said he had traction problems so who knows..

i never knew anyone that had a swap done by them before though, good to hear they know what they are doing. prolly dropping a new engine in the sol soon.

micah;

I bought all the components, and Nic put it all together. I helped him a bunch. No, Nic has a B20 vtec in ahatch, but it is grey in color. the Green one is Bei. He cool, but yeah, has serious traction problems. Nic works there part time adn getting married, so new wife is making him cut back on shop time. They do good work there. Owner is big nismo fan, so got to dog him how good Hondas are...

Alos saw a new place downtown, where NRG use to be, called Wicked Customs or something like that... maybe Extreme Customs... But do not know anything on the owners...

put my 22mm ITR rear sway bar in with BQS kit. Now that really makes the teg turn...

Late

Default North East Florida

Any shops in NE Florida? I have a '94 Civic Coupe that I want to put a B16A2 into but don't have the facilities or the experience do do it myself ;-)

I'm in Jacksonville. Not a racer, I just like to have fun driving.

Maybe I shouldn't have brought this one back, but I took it that the was supposed to be an on-going thread.

Anyway, does any one know where the closest place to Nashville, TN would be where I could get my soon-to-be-built turbo engine tuned using Crome Pro? I understand that I may have to drive a good distance. Let me know what you know.
