00 d16 auto to 88 hb 5speed

i have pulled a d16 vtec w/harness from a 00 civic ex auto and put it in a 88 hatch w/5 speed i have gotten as far as starting and running good but can't seem to find a way to be rid of the 5.3g neu rev limiter

Does the hatch have vtec or not?

If you put a vtec ecu in a non vtec car that could be your problem.

i put the whole harness in, i'm just using a 88 5 speed instead of a 2000 auto i have it in and running good i just need to know how to get past the neutral rev limiter, the front tires are still in the air and i will probablly put it on the ground tomorrow to see if driving it makes any difference

also,the car is a 88 hatch 5 speed and the motor w/harness came out of a 2000 ex coupe auto (both are civics)
