    Hi there,
I'm having some problems and i would like to have some advice from you. I already did a lot of search on the subject but didn't find anything.
I was running a p30 with obd2b to obd1 harness for 6 months without any problems. One day, the tach stopped working and it started to smell like burned electronics and some smoke..lol.
Right after that i switched to oem ecu and i worked well, then I went to honda and they just changed the related fuse.
After this i tried to plug 2 other ecu's (p28 and p30) and both got burned, more precisely the D1780 transistor (Q31). I've done some research and found that it is related to pin A20 that goes to evap purge control solenoid valve. I saw someone's post saying that it happens when the IAT and PCS are broken or not working well. Then i remembered that a few days before the first ecu got burned i switched the oem intake filter box to the itr one as well as the complete intake manifold system, so it might be it, cause i didn't put the IAT sensor in the new pipe that goes from the air box to the TB.
Could someone please give me some hints about this problem?

All I can think of it being, as far as wiring goes, is maybe a wire is grounding out. Make sure the correct amperage fuse is used in relation to all electronics in the vehicle. Using a fuse with a higher amperage can cause excessive voltage in the circuit. Check your ecu fuse and make sure it is the correct amperage fuse. This can easily toast your ecu if not correct. Your ecu requires very little voltage to operate.

if Q31 fried in your car, make sure you double check the IAT sensor to make sure it didnt melt out. most people plug the purge plug into the IAT sensor which burns the sensor and also Q31. replace the IAT if burnt and plug it in the right plug. it should be a green wire and a red wire i believe
