need some advive on 1/4 mile times heres the best i did
reaction .8945
60 ft 2.6113
1/8et 10.4002
1/8 mph 70.73
1/4 et 15.9635
1/4 mph 88.37
i launched around 4000-4500 with new tires and struts jdm b16 jdm p30 short ram intake 2.5" exhaust and skunk2 intake

try launching around 2500-3000, 4-4.5k sounds a bit high, you probably spin your tires and loose time, your 60' times should be around 2.0 or under. i think you should be putting about high 14s or lower with that motor.

was this your first time?

for your reaction time, try launching before the green, your car tire should be rolling just after the green. good luck bro.
dragging is fun, but autoX is so much more fun, but to each his own.

you shouldn't be running 14's or lower. gsr hatches run about 14.8 area. you won't be able to pull anything near a 2.2 without an lsd and some really good tires. doesnt' matter if they are new or not. i see you getting down to 15.4 maybe with practice. drop the clutch at 3k when the last yellow lights up and you will help your rt.

thanx for the suggestions guys what about lowering vtec engagement?
With stock camshafts dont touch your VTEC engagement point. If anything, use an AFC to adjust your a/f mixture once VTEC kicks in.

Most honda's are designed to run rich under vtec so that may help a tad. Other than that just work on your launch. Practice somewhere safe & empty on a sunday morning.

Just for reference, here is the info on the best time my B16 Coupe ever ran. The car only had an intake & exhaust - stock exhaust manifold.

R/T . . . .465
60 . . . 2.483
330 . . . 6.741
1/8 . . . 10.190
MPH . . . 71.64
1000 . . . 13.128
1/4 . . . 15.631
MPH . . . 89.71

Now that the car has been stolen/parted out, there is no telling what it runs! WATCH OUT HARTFORD!!!y0n33!!111111111!!1!!

Reaction time is how you win, if you can get that below .100 then you are golden.

if you are looking for a quick time each run is deffinently decided in the first 60' i would expect 2.4-2.6 with a b16 hatch. if possible you want as deep throttle as possible with no wheel spin. just chirp them off the line.

Really? i was almost positive that most b16 hatches could do at least a 2.2 in the 60' with a perfect start each time, i've seen it done, but i will take your word. i'm sure you have more experience that i do, so i'm sorry, i'm just going by what i have seen on the track, and they were your usual i/h/e, maybe a chip but usually stock internals.

thanks for the info!

My CRX si was pulling those times stock w/ full interior. (d16a6)

You should be able to eek out a little better time. And launching at 3k might not be the best idea, the b16 is a high strung little bastard, and that may make it bog. You just have to try it and see. If you aren't getting alot of track time, try to locate a less popular spot.. maybe an 1/8th mile track so you can practice launching.

P.S. What the hell are you driving??

yeah, my prelude with an exhaust leak beats that civic. i went the other day and pulled this:

Reaction - .7394
60' - 2.3231
330' - 6.5579
1/8ET - 10.0074
1/8MPH - 72.07

Weak ass civics :p

the prelude has more torque though. hondas still are far from the ideal drag car.

My b16 95 ex coupe ran 15.03 @ 91.70 full interior with only an intake and a slippy clutch.
I was dropping it at 5k rpm with my slipping clutch acting as the feather, at 12-15psi in the front tires (falken azenis rt615s)
My best 60' foot time was 2.286 but I'm not sure if that was on my 15.03 run or my perfect reaction time run.
( This run took place at 55-60degrees 1,230ft above sea level with low/no humidity in Phoenix. )

Lol are you serious? Your 1/8 time is the same as the one i ran in my old civic.

thanxs for the info guys, my only concern about my vtec engagement is that it kicks in at 6000 rpms i just thought that was a bit high

yup, dead serious about the time. thats what an exhaust leak does. makes my AFRs SUPER RICH.

i have a 94 hatch and went 14.3 with my gsr on street tires. all i have done is intake, header and exhaust.
2.2 60ft
98.42 mph
@14.37
im using the hondata that i had in my 2000 si. its tuned for a B16. vtec comes on at 4900 and the rev limiter is at 8400
