1996 Honda Civic DX

Hi all,

I just purchased a used automatic civic with 225000km. it appears to be slipping from 2 to 3 gear. I've changed the tranny fluid and installed lucas transmittion fix, but the same thing. I GUESS I have to change the transmission. Does anyone know where I can find some technical data on how to change the transmission. it will be my first time.

Lots of places can work on auto trannys & fix yours, or, find a reliable source & swap it yourself. If so, you should buy at least a Honda Service Manual, have a good set of metric tools... realize, you'll have to pull the motor to get it out.

I was gonna do it myself, to try and save some cash. I was wondering if I coud download the service manual for free somewhere, somehow.

You can buy them on ebay, reasonably priced.
