So my friends truck died yesterday under normal drivig condition...

138K on the clock

4 cyl, 2.2, 5 speed chevy shitbox

it has no throttle response, horrible misfiring, you have to hold the pedal to the floor to get it to start/idle, pedal on the floor does not make it rev

we've tried the following:
crank sensor
coil packs
ignition module
exhaust/clogged cat
fuel filter
computer
map sensor
tps sensor
iac
plugs
wires
compression test, all cylinders good
checked rocker arms/valve train

we had all these parts laying around from doing my truck and it still runs exactly the same, its baffling

i'm ashamed of you...
small block or leave it stock...

vortec junk
i hate those motors...
they toss rods like ron jeremy in his golden years...

we should drop a 302 in it and really fuck with the chevy lovers

lol

in all seriousness tho, have you checked the throttle cable to see if thats came loose?

yea, throttle cable is intact...

its the fucking strangest thing in the world...

it just doesn't make any sense

keep the ideas coming though

Heh, I had the exact same truck... '97 s10, 2.2L, 5spd... and right about 135k it started doing the exact same thing! I couldn't figure out wtf it was either, I sold it for $700... total piece of shit.
