there's not enough names to use.

names are recycled every 6 years, and if the storm is major, the name is retired (Andrew from 92, Katrina from this year, Hugo from SC a few years back, etc)

After a couple years, there would be no more z q or x names to use.

plus, a rule is that they should be easy to pronounce and aren't confusing. most are 1 or 2 syalables...
