The Vtec D17 engine in my 01 civic needs to be replaced and I have a few questions. I've mostly only worked on 5th gen civics and crx's so I don't know all that much about the newer engines and setups.
I would like to install a K20a3 (i'm too poor for an a2) I assume it will fit into my 01 but I see a lot of sites that say it only fits 02-05 civics/rsx's. I'm sure this is just because those were the years available for the engine but I just want to make sure.
Will the K20 engine bolt up to a D17's transmission? Would be nice if I could save the money and not buy a new tranny.
Do you think I'd be better off just throwing in another D17 Vtec and using the extra money I'd save to put on a turbo?
