How do you know it's the ignition lock cylinder?

When you say you tried to start the car did the dash lights come on?
Did you check the battery connections?

I am interested in your trouble shooting process.

The key won't turn. The dome lite comes on. The car has 279000 on it I deliver pizza in it. So I'm thinking sticking the key in and out 6 days a week form 5-6 hours a day has done it in. .I have had someone look at it and they told me I had to replace it. The same thing happened to the doors locks to. The only thing the key works on it the trunk.
