Almost since I took delivery on my 2011 Accord SE, it has had an intermittent hesitation problem that's serious enough to make me concerned about its safety. The hesitation mostly happens when I need sudden acceleration, like when merging onto highway traffic, but it can also happen when starting up from a dead stop at a traffic light. The dealership says that the relevant computers have not detected anything "out of spec." Today, the service advisor mentioned that these cars cut off the throttle when the brake is applied. Is it possible that there is a significant delay between the time you take your foot off the brake and the time the throttle is again available for acceleration? Thanks for responses from those who are familiar with these cars and their throttle-stopping brake system.

I haven't driven one of these. Is the car drive by wire? It sounds like it.

It's possible there is some delay in the transition, or even a sticky switch on a pedal.

Try a different dealership. All honda dealers will honor the oem warranty.
