Hello

I have an EG Civic. I had a damaged block so I bought a new head and block from an EK with 3 stage VTEC.

I reused my intake and exhaust manifolds.

My question is with the VTEC wiring. One of the Solenoids has a Red Wire and the other has a Green/Yellow wire.

I want to keep my car in 16 Valve mode, which I guess means sending 12 Volts to that solenoid, whichever it is. I heard that it is the Red wire one, and some say its the green.

Please help.
 
I am using the full harness from my old engine. Just the Head and Block with VTEC Solenoids are being used from the new engine.
 
Sounds like you bought a HX engine which is no bueno.....on the HX engine, what happens is when you slam on the gas and "attempt" to hit VTEC, the motor allows you to but decides to also save gas. For regular VTEC setups, the Green/Yellow wire is always the VTEC solenoid, but with this motor it's not going to feel like an EX motor.
