in a train!!!
i always wondered how long it would be until maglev trains were being used.
oh and did the math, its actually 311.306967192 mph that it went. thats ALMOST half the speed of sound btw....
Wow... Just WOW.
Quick, someone put a penny on the track.
Those trains don't touch the tracks. Well, if it goes off of superconducter technology that is.
Quick someone wrap the bars with aluminum foil!
is that better?
finally something to replace the TGV.
Thats fast! We need some of those in the US.
They need to get the Acela working on a consistent basis before we tackle 300+ mph.
The only use for a train like that in the U.S is a transcontinental service. I don't think the train could get up to full speed potential doing a run from Boston to Washington.
either way, I don't think I would put my life in Amtrak's hands at 312mph
It does it on their short track they are running now... why not ?
Although all of this stinks of the Simpson's Monorail episode.
Yeah, id really hope that amtrac wouldnt get the contract for america's maglev train.
Amtrack are the only people dedicated to moving people by train though. If any other train company took it over, you would be able to overnight deliver a car.
Which would be neat, if you shipped your car, and your car was being GPS tracked and you got sent for doing 300 mph for 4 hours to LA.
LOL yeah. That would be teh shitty. I used to put pennies on the train tracks close to my house.
