Watanabe Whore!!!
Rest In Peace
I have the Jeep...it needs the full shocks, brakes, and the passenger seat floor board repaired...shocks $100-200, brakes prolly about $100., repaires on the seat..just a little time to fab it up.

I have the 87 CRX, fully built with a turbo, and a blown block. A rebuilt block will be here friday, and I can rebuild it, and get it back on the road in a week. I'd just need a head gasket for $30-50.

I have the AE86, with the full build posted here, and I just found out today what the main problem is....the venturie's are the wrong size, and the jet block setup is also to small in one part and too big in the other part, to get it to maximize it's desired performance will run about $140 in parts. And I found the rear TRD springs at 8 kg/mm for $140 shipped.

I have my 260Z....it's perfect right now...but plans to build it up and the parts to do it are here.

I bought a 280Z, to build up the 260 with a more powerful engine, cam, oversided pistons, and it runs...just a week to swap the parts out and over to the other Z. This Z has the full new suspention, and the bushings to make my Z run as good as it looks. I got the car for $999, and I only owe $440 for it now.

That's my FLEET...and parts car. I just have to get off my ass and do the work to the cars, but a sore back, and room to work out of is limiting the maintenace of these cars, the money is not to much of a problem. I still have the bills all paid, the 4 good cars are registered, taxes paid, and insured. My food, and play money is also in the plus, parts money is good, and I have a little stached to buy a house, and plenty of beer and ciggs to last a while.

Everything is fine and set for the next month for rent and bills and parts, and I even signed up for a drift clinic so I can get some seat time this year. And I might make the last few events for the autocross season if things work out right. So I'm sitting nice and happy with everything. For once in my life, everything is working out, the wife is recovering fine from her operations, I'm legal on everything, everything is paid, I even enjoy good food everyday. I am happey for the most part, but the cars are almost to the point to where they run decently or the will be running shortly with a lot of work.

So out of the blue....this morning I get a phone call.

I'm still trying to come to my sense's after picking up the phone, and I missed the guys first few sentences, but when I finally heard "240" and "build", then I thought it was a guy who had a stripped 240SX that was going to help donate or sell some parts for a another projet that I was building for a freind, so I went and told him the sad story about my buddies wish to build his wife a hot looking car from a junked 240sx and the 280Z parts car. We are putting the Z front end on the 240sx...opps...I just let out teh secret build, but fawk it. My buddy got in a bike accident and is in the hospital now, so that build may be on the backburner for a while. Anyways, we were talking and I mentioned my little problem with the carbs on the AE86, and he has done that type of a build before, and he walked me thru it and we talked for an hour on what to change, where to get the parts, etc...etc... This guy knew his stuff. Then Z's came into the conversation...and we went for another hour talking about projects and stuff that I was involved in, and that he has done or will do.... This guy was now my new best freind. I found out that he built many old exoctic racecars, like the Z, but he also was into the MG's, Lotus, Jags, etc.... and he knew his stuff. He is an old man, well...I didn't get his age, but he said he was retired and just haveing fun building and racing these cars. So I guess he is in his 50's, I could be wrong. Anyways...the conversation ended back to his original reason for the phone call.

His buddy who is a cop wanted to build a car, dropped lots of money into it, and wanted to race it for autocross, so the cop and him found a 72 240Z, and built it to the max. The dropped the 280Z engine into it, oversized pistons, cam, Tripple Webers, ignition, full adjustable suspention, Panasports Rims, new tires, 4.7 rear diff, 5 speed, and a lot of other hot toys into this car. Just the parts and the work involved I thought the car would be selling for over $7000. The cop found some rust, under the seat, but it was repairable, and he gave up on the car. He sold the car to some kid, who brought it right back after he found the rust...so now this old gentalman had this car sitting in his shop and is takeing up the area that he needs to use for his other projects. So I guess he talked to a freind, who talked to a freind...and the word got out that he wanted to sell it, and a freind of my freind gave my phone number to the guy. So thats how he got ahold of me. Anyways, he's selling this car, and wanted to know if I was interested. He mentioned the repairable rust, and the website to get the full repair kit from, that is about $250, and he told me it needed to be welded on. He also said he has a mig welder that he would throw into the car if I bought tha car...a new MIG welder that he only used for 3 hours. He wanted to get rid of it so he can buy a TIG welder.

Well now my pecker is at full attention, and I didn't need to even look at the porn on the computer. I was hooked. But I pulled my bank account up on the computer and looked at my balance for useable funds and I have about 200-300 bucks. No chanch in hell to get this car now, no matter what the price is......so just out of curiousity, I had to find out....just how much is he selling this car for. When he told me the price that he wanted....I dropped everything and started chocking on my own drool. It wasn't a pretty sight. I had an anerism when I heard the words " just one thousand bucks would make me happy", "get the money here here and you can drive off with the car"..... The computer monitor saw the largest spuge wad it has ever seen in the last few years....and now I am in a biss of happiness.

So now I will be going thru all my un-needed toys, trinkets, parts, tools, to sell and try to come up with the money as soon as possible to try to go get this damn car and bring it home here. just $1000 and I can drive it home. I have $300 I can use now, and try to come up with the rest of the money to get this beast to my house. But also......I foresee the Jeep going away in the near future, and the AE86 might have to say bye bye to the fleet after I have a little bit of fun with it.

:cliffs:
I'm insane

and my mugen rims are now up for grab's ;)

wow. i'm sure you'll find the money somewhere and get the car. you sound like you deserve it.

Just talked to the guy again, the car had over $2000 of work and trinkets from him and his shop. The panasports stay at the shop, but it will have the same Western Turbine wheels that my Z has with new tires on it. The tripple carbs will be swapped with the SU's that just got back from being rebuilt with new slider bearings, out from CA that costed the cop $3-400, and the cam is huge  the head came off, they did a valve job, port and polish, huge cam (over $400 alone), headgasket, and chain. It has the ceramic sprayed headers, 2 1/2 exhaust all the way back. New clutch and pressure plate, 5 speed trany, and the 3.9 rear diff, but not LSD  ohh well. He can't remember if he did the shocks or not, but if he did, then it would have KYB's in it. Just the work and parts into the drivetrain far excedes over $3000. Last nights post I was so excited about this that I didn't listen to everyword that he said, but I called him today to verify everything and work out the money. He said I can bring him $500 and a photo copy my Licence, sign the papers, blah blah blah, and take the car home that day, and just work out a way to pay the rest of the money when I have it. But he said that a car in this condition would easily sell for $3000 if not more. He also said that this same set up in another car that he built would drag with a Corvette, and keep up with it, and beat it.....this car should do that or more.... Plus he is just loaded down with turbos and intercoolers....I asked him if he would take trades for my turbo and IC parts to bring the price down....and he says he has too many now as it is.

I might get this car this week-end

I could easily slim all that crap down... First, make the 626 "The" car. Those cars rock, but there is no excuse an educated and car-nuts guy should even have a friend who owns a Taurus.

Dodge vans blow. Boring, shitty steering, not as bad as Ford, but still close.

The 86 Truck is fine, but it's a crappy year for the Ford truck. I know, I (kinda) have one. It's for sale if you want another.

The 87 Pulsar is the boxy kind. Ditch that crap. Even Nissan apologized for that car. If it's the Pulsar NX, then it's a keeper.
87 Grand Am. Why, oh why.
Sentra parts car is only good if you have an NX Pulsar. Scrap that thing too.
CJ is always a keeper.

So there you have it, the 626 daily, the Pulsar autox car, and the CJ for offroad excursions. Sounds like a combo to me :)

NEVER EVER DIS THE VAN!!!
jk

but seriously... it is an NX... the boxy pulsars werent ever in the US... any way the sentra is a part car for the pulsar... the 626 gets fixed tommarrow and becomes mine... the taurs is being sold, the truck is a snow plow for the winters in missouri and my 4 mile drive way.. and I have spent at least 1000 hours or my jeep, and I beat the shit out of it till it stops running then... I fix it when I get more money... which right now doesnt happen.

but back to the van.... the fastest time in that van in the 1/4 is 14.87 @92 mph... TONS OF ROOM FOR EVERYTHING.. only problem... 13 mpg... kinda sucks.. but ehh I can deal with that for having 340 hp on tap..

I see no counterargument for ditching the Grand Am :)

Also, the NX pulsars were in the US. My friend in HS had one. They all died, and may be on the list of truly extinct cars in the US. The US even had AWD special models offered as a dealer award program.
But the NX Pulsars are neat. The interchangeable backs, nice t-tops, etc. Shame the cars were so weak (Hit a curb in it, and it's a complete loss) but overall, I would own one. I almost bought one, until the dealer (Nissan of Keene, NH) showed me the 1991 NX2000 with SR20DE. I should have got the older Pulsar.

i had a shot at an nx1600 till steveo showed me the way to how shitty it was...

then i never was able to find an nx2000... :(

Yeah, the 1600 has no redeeming qualities.

Like all Nissans, dare I Say, crappy build quality. The 2000 at least has a good motor. Get over the fact that it mysteriously devours rubber mounts and bits of plastic from the interior, and it's a good car to live by.

The Pulsar NX is neater though. The back comes off and has either a station wagon back or the notchback that you can click into place. The rear is negligible, and only the SE 16 Valve can move (and even that is 0-60 near 10 seconds). Nissan + t-tops = leaks from the factory. The headlights never work right, and the interior plastic is shoddy at best. But the design, appeal and fun of it is there. Trendy (Read: That trend is over) seats only eccentuate the fact that you're driving a really neat car from the 80s that was decades ahead of it's time.

Look at the Subaru XT6. Now close your eyes. See? It's still there it's that cool. It's like a fat chick that can program and turn a wrench. You just want it regardless of how much fun your friends will make of you.

DEAL! the amount of shit for owning that thing is almost unbelievable, but it is my car, it is the 1st car that I have fully owned by myself and I love it..... I am planning a motor swap on it... even though its somewhat wasted money, it is a car that I desire and most of all one that fits me and most of the things I do....

:worthy: to my pulsar... for giving it hell and keeping with me...

Thread from the dead. Reminiscing post, Carry on :)

280ZX purchase post, "I hate NX2000s" and "Steveo talked me out of a NX1600"

Wow, how things have changed here. Ninja's Pulsar is done, and life has moved forward.

Good show.

I fucking hate you Steve. I read that entire goddamn thing and never looked at the date until i got to your last post. :p
