Im thinkin 8.5:1 ratio pistons at 14 psi, but im worried about the lag.
Im gonna need some power to get me off the line, should I get get
higher compression and less boost or what?

There won't be too much difference off boost between 8.5 and 9.0.... and both compressions will be fairly easy to tune on an efficient turbo at 14psi. Just go with 9.0:1.

Depends on how much boost- but since you're going to have the engine apart, you might as well throw some forged rods in there too if you have the cash. It's a pain in the ass to have pistons that can handle whatever boost you want to throw at them, but not have the rods to support it.

If you're building a B18/B20 (89mm stroke), I have a set of Eagle rods that I'm trying to sell.... if you're interested. $250 shipped.

    :)
