Good evening. I was rummaging thru my shtuff and found a adjustable cam gear from a 86 civic si I sold a while back.
Will this gear work on my later D15b2??
I'll be doing a timing belt change soon (well, when I fix the ECU problem..) SO I can swap it on at that time if it will work.

And on a STOCK cam, how many degrees adv should I make it?
I had it at 3 for the last engine but it had a little work done to it.

Thanks.

No but it will fit a f series engine. I ran a F22a1 timing gear on my 85 Crx si with no problems at all, I thought a lighter cam gear would cut parasitic drag....blah blah blah.

So, how many degrees did you advance it? Did you have an aftermarket cam in the 85?
Did it mess up the timing enough to widen out the holes that tighten it to the head? i had to do that to my older 89 prelude.

On the older cvcc's you could jump it a tooth or so where the cam and driven gear and even had adjustment under the head of the 'dizzy'.

Didnt do anything at all to it, the F22 timing marks, and tooth count are the same as the D15a3/EW4
