Hi All,

I bought an 86 crx si and it has been sitting for about four years. All the owner did was let it run once a week. When I drive it smokes lots. Do you think this will go away as I drive it or is there a major problem?

Thanks

it's a blue/gray smoke. I checked the compression and 1-2 have 140psi and 3-4 have 150psi. I'm not sure what it should be? There is lot of carbon on the plugs and they are new. I'm thinking a valve job?

Is the smoke comes from the exhaust? If that was white smoke, then probably it is caused by water and or antifreeze entering the cylinder, and the engine trying to burn it with the fuel. If it's blue, then it is caused by engine oil entering the cylinder area and being burned along with the fuel air mixture. And if it's black, it is actually caused by excess fuel that has entered the cylinder area and cannot be burned completely.
