I have an 87 CRX Si that I'm looking into swapping engines on. I want to go with a DOHC. After some research I've decided on either the 2nd gen ZC or the 1st gen B16A. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or advice on this. Also would it be better to go with a JDM or a USDM?

ZC would be cheaper and easier, B16A would require aftermarket mounts, custom shift-linkage, might need ecu jumper and some other stuff I can't remember. Is this gona be daily driven or weekend car?

Its a daily driver for my oldest son as well as a project car for us to work on. The cost isn't so much of the issue as much as the potential of the engine and availability of parts.

If I were you I would rather to this project on a 88-91 Civic/CRX. They are extremely difficult on 84-87.
The fact its a second generation you will need to wire it up as obd1 or convert it to odb0.
Take a look at this LINK
It will help you out greatly.
