tonight my car blew the lower heater hose, about 20 feet from my driveway luckily. My husband repaired the hose and was working on burping the air out of the heater core, letting the car idle with the heater on- the car temp gage inside didn't show it as hot at all, only going up about 1/3 of the way. Steam is coming out of the valve on top of the motor, and finally the radiator levels dropped some. The air blowing out of the heater is cool, even after the car ran for 1/2 hour. The upper hose is tolerable to the touch, and the lower hose is very hot. My fan is not turning on at all either. After running for about 45 minutes idling, the car over heated and died. Any ideas? When the car died, the dash gage was still showing it at between a third to a half way up. Any suggestions for us??
