    90 integra = B series
    88 civic = D series

they dont bolt up to each other... there may be adapter plates available... but they tend to be more expensive than just getting the correct tranny

sorry man... keep looking for a cable B series tranny... they are out there

what else had a b series transmission in 90.

Thanks for the info E solsi on the b and d series but I was wondering if there is anything that interchangeable with the b18a1. What model of car should I look for. Looks like im gonna be searching through junkyards. Appreciate any info you could give. Thanks again

You can use any B series transmission. If you are gonna look in a junkyard then you are gonna want to look for an Integra, a Prelude, a 96-00 Civic SI or you might just find a Honda that has had a B series swap done to it.. When you go, just make sure to look at the stamp on the engine block, as long as it starts with a B (IE: B16, B17, B18, B20) the transmission will bolt up to your engine.

yes its true that any b series trans will bolt up to the old b18a1 in that 90 integra.... but, you need a cable transmission. most of the ones you will find are hydraulic. cable trans was only in the cars from the very early 90s. a lot of b16a cable trannys have been imported from japan, and there are some 90-91 model integras ones around too. you could convert to a hydraulic transmission, but it sounds like you just want something cheap to throw in there.

and whiterabbit06, no prelude ever came with a b series engine. just civics, integras, and del sols.

but yeah like mdpsEG said you are going to want a cable tranny from a 93 or older B series

id hit some junkyards and see what you can find... or check craigslist and honda forums
but your best bet will likely be to contact some of the reputable importers and see if they have anything

Yeah, the B motors in the Prelude were their own deal separate from the B-series that most are familiar with (B16, B18, CR-V B20, etc.). Those transmissions won't be compatible with the Integra...
