I just picked up a 1990 Civic with a Zc DOHC swap and it was running fine till it just up and died one night, broke apart the distributor and the rotor was melted... first of all why? And second I threw in a new cap and rotor today and I got a high pitched squeek... shut it down busted it apart and the rotor was melting again..... why is it getting that hot?

Because the distributor bearings failed and heated up the distributor shaft! It happened to me while I was in the middle of nowhere. Its a common problem on 4th gen accords.

There was a person with new dizzy housings on Ebay a while back.. Fairly reasonable too! D, B, H, F series
Just didn't have the coil/pickups.

It's been the early part of summer though.
