91 crx take out the key and the engine keeps running???

I got a 1991 honda crx when you take the key out the radio and dash lights go off but the motor still runs??? You can even drive it without the key just need the key to start it. The only way to turn it off is pop the clutch in first gear and hold the brake. Can anybody help me???

get a new switch

yeah it sounds like a bad switch...get a used one from a junkyard and grab the keys that go with it.

if you bring the tumbler assembly to a locksmith i believe they can make a key for you as well.

really? that would have helped me with my door lock on my civic...i replaced it cause the anus before me broke the handle off but i couldn't unlock it except from the passenger side( crawling through)so i ended up replacing all the locks on the outside to fix the problem...
