while driving 40 mph in cruise control the car went back to 3 rd gear, i stopped and shifted the selector a few times and the dr 4 light stayed on along with what ever pos the selector was in, i found i could shift manuely into 1 st and go but would not go past 3 rd gear, then it went to shifting again in less than a block. the car has 115000 miles and shifts perfect . the car did this shifting trick 8 times in a half a mile then straighten out on its own, ive driven it 79 miles since with no problems. , the dr 4 light was not flashing. anybody got any ideas

Did you start ascending a slope or were you on level ground the whole time?

was on level ground, constant speed, no codes came up on computer, have driven 169 miles since with no problem. my mech says its a elec problem but could not find it or make the car act up. hechecked all plug connections. dont know what to think

operator error maybe? no offense, we are screw up sometimes...

there maybe a broken engine/tranny mount or internal tranny issue

changed the transmission computer and seems the problem is solved, it shifts much better as well. thanks
