SO im a former Ford fan...
Just totalled a built 95 gt but thats besides the point.
I've found a new love for this 93 civic hatch i just bought
IT s got a 1.6 D16z6. i know absolutely nothing about hondas, this is my first one and all i know is that its not fast enough

Ive researched a little but not enough to know anyhthing to usefull yet..
basically its got 112000 miles and i want to rebuild it for sure.

but im hoping to push at least 225 to 250 ponies out of a daily driver on a stock motor.

I mean can i get that with basic bolt ons i mean INTAKE(CAI, throttle body, intake manifold etc.) EXHAUST(header, cat back), CAM(gears and mild cam), maybe put in some bigger INJECTORS when rebuilt as well as a HEAD SWAP?...
WHat head? or should i port and polish and re valve the stock head?...
but all on STOCK INTERNALS...
SLutch, Flywheel...
Anything else?...

This sound possible?...

Oh and a decent mapping system....

Anything would help....
I really wanna get started asap ive got about 1500$ to 2000$spend on this build

Welcome to Hondaswap!

Ok...

$2000 isn't going to get you very far, at all. The motor STOCK can only handle up to 200 HP, after that you're doing a complete build. The only way you're going to reach 250 HP is by turbo, its only 125 HP stock. If you did everything as above you're getting about 140 HP. Yes its lame for the ammount of money spent on all motor so turbo is the way to go. If your car is a Si or EX it has the legendary P28 ECU. Get the ECU chipped then after you've done your "mods" go to a dyno and get it tuned.

There is lots to learn in the Honda world. I would do a ass-ton of searching.

Here are your key words of the day ( put Honda before each ;) )
-turbo D16Z6
-chipping P28
-tuneing P28
-D16Z6 motor build

Have fun with your Civic.

HA thanks For the info
Sounds like i need to start reading

ANd it sounds like a full build is gonna be the result

Im stoked this should be a fun project

You should also search up other popular motor swaps. B16, B18, K20...all twin cam while the D16 is a single.

If you build it right, it will last a long time.
