Over the weekend i was lucky enough to find 96 ex for $390

it's Not VTEC :'(

I was wondering how can I do a D16 VTEC.
How can I lose weight/ have better power to ratio?
How can I have better power for this lil 4 Cyl/How much could i crank out?

I have only about 1000 dollas for parts.

my brother also have k20.a2? i think that what it is...it is from civic Si.

I was wondering if Its going to be hard/lots of work.

am 17 and this is my first honda car :p
 
where you from? how did you get a non-vtec EX? someone must have popped and swapped the motor.

well anyway.....i was doing some research on wikipedia...and it turns out that i have d16y5 :p which is a sohc vtec....17! am stupid :'( but yeah the only reaon why i first though it wasnt VTEC is because the header does not say VTEC when it usually does...am sorry guys :(

anyhow, i still would like to have more than just 115 ponies.

i know that all motor wont get me anywhere but is it possible to get SOMEWHERE near 150 or 160

Well This is a good site "I trust" for most genral data on cars. here is you car
1996 Honda Civic specs, auto safety at Edmunds

Claims 2 have 127Hp and 107LBS torque.

Now with a 1,000 bucks you can go a few ways... Strait N/A tune which I would recomend over getting a used turbo kit off ebay.

an N/A tune if you read around you can push 150HP... I think the member Blanco had a link kicking around were he changed the cams, pistons, crank shafts... ect to get this out of a 1.6 SOHC motor.
