#1. just got the car and it just has intake and exaust. kinda slugish! it's a 97 ex 5 speed coupe. don't want too much under the hood, just a little more power. don't know too much about honda swaps so i'm gonna need some help! i need something kinda cheap and that will go in with out cuttin' it up. b16-b18? whats the difference? what will i need besides a b series motor to get goin'?? mounts, axels, anything?

#2. will a b series motor pickup a respectable amount of hp with a few bolt ons? are they dohc vtec?

    any info will help
    thanks

the b series will bolt in with out cutting and you just need a few things, but if i was you just turbo what you have and it will have more tork and hp than a b series with bolt ons

i could just do the swap for now, then boltons 1 at a time down the road

ok with a 2 grand limit your best bet will be the b16a sir2 thats a vtec motor, or a b18b non vtec motor,i would go with the b16a sir2 motor, it will respond much better to mods, Specializing in JDM-USDM Engines & Parts...hmotorsonline.com also you will need 2 mounts both from a si civic 99-00 modle and you will need 99-00 si shift linkage
